Moroccan Beldi Black Soap - Olive Oil Skin Cleanser

After years of searching for a truly natural soap — one without added perfume, one that does not irritate my skin or leave it begging for moisture — I genuinely believe I have finally found it.

My skin is extremely sensitive. I can use a product once and spend months trying to calm the reaction. Some products work for a while and then suddenly cause a flare‑up. Others get discontinued or quietly reformulated, sending me back to square one. That is why I waited a full year before writing this review, and honestly, all I can say is: please don’t ever change this product.

The soap has a silky, smooth consistency that makes it easy to apply to a loofah, flannel, or exfoliating glove. It can get caught in the bristles of a back brush, but with a bit of technique it works just fine. A little goes a long way — it spreads easily and creates a lovely lather.

On my second or third order, the colour looked slightly different. I contacted Menara Co and was told it is simply due to the natural ingredients. So if you notice a variation, don’t worry — it doesn’t mean the formula has changed.

One thing I learned the hard way: store it somewhere cool.
If it gets warm, it can turn into a liquid. Still completely usable, just a little harder to apply — so do not throw it out!

After rinsing, it leaves a soft, moisturised layer on the skin, almost as if you have already applied lotion or cream. For some people, that might mean no additional moisturiser needed at all. I have gone whole days without re‑creaming, and even on days when I wash my forearms multiple times, I can get through three washes before needing more moisturiser.

A huge benefit for me is the complete absence of perfume. I am tired of “natural” soaps that still smell heavily fragranced — sometimes without even listing perfume on the label. This soap is not like that. It has a gentle olive oil scent that is pleasant, subtle, and fades quickly.

I can not comment on using it on my face — my T‑zone is unpredictable — and because this soap is so moisturising, I do not think it would suit me there. But for the body, it has been perfect.

Overall, this is a 5‑star product. Any small quirks are nothing compared to the benefits. I have even bought it as part of pamper hampers and gifted it to friends and family.

I truly cannot recommend it enough.

When I first read about this soap, I knew that I had to buy it. I was looking for a natural soap without harful ingredients that gently exfoliates the skin and wouldn't dry out my skin.
My Moroccan Black Soap and Exfoliating glove arrived quickly. You only need a little to get a rich lather. It has a pleasant smell and leaves my skin soft without drying it out.

Just what I was looking for, leaves my skin clean without overdrying it. The extra virgin olive oil scent it has is definitely a bonus.

The soap itself reminds reminds me of raw nigerian black soap - just with a much softer texture. It also pairs perfectly with the exfoliating mitt for an occasional spa session.

Absolutely loved the black soap! It made my skin feel so clean and fresh, and the scent left my whole bathroom smelling just like Morocco. Definitely should’ve gone for the bigger tub!
